All outings organised for a fee must be monitored by State-approved persons with a permit issued by the Ministry of Youth & Sport for specialised skills: guide accompagnateur in the hinterland, aspirant-guide and guide de haute montagne in the mountains, guide de spéléologie for caving, accompagnateur en tourisme équestre for riding, moniteur de vol libre for hang gliding, moniteur de canoë-kayak for canoeing.

For canyoneering, State-approved guides must have additional qualification for teaching this activity.
